Refreshing Grapefruit Beet Detox Smoothie

This detox smoothie is a blend of fresh grapefruit, cooked beets, and additional fruits, providing a tangy yet sweet flavor profile. Ideal for a nutritious breakfast or a revitalizing snack, it takes only about 10 minutes to prepare and serves 2 people.
Ingredients
- 1 medium cooked beet, peeled and diced
- 1 large grapefruit, peeled and segmented
- 1 banana, sliced
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt or a dairy-free alternative
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 1 cup spinach or kale (optional)
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 1 cup water or coconut water
Instructions
- Prep the Ingredients: Peel and chop the beet, prepare the grapefruit segments, and slice the banana.
- Blend the Smoothie: In a blender, combine the cooked beet, grapefruit, banana, yogurt, honey (if using), greens (if using), ice cubes, and water.
- Blend Until Smooth: Blend everything on high until you achieve a creamy texture. You can add more water if it’s too thick.
- Serve: Pour the smoothie into glasses and enjoy immediately for the best flavor and freshness.
Roast or steam the beet first for a softer taste. A squeeze of the grapefruit keeps the red from going muddy.
