Delicious Apple Cider Glazed Pork Ribs

These pork ribs are slow-cooked and coated in a luscious apple cider glaze that caramelizes beautifully during cooking. The recipe takes about 2 hours from start to finish and serves 4 to 6 people.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ribs: Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  2. Make the Glaze: In a saucepan, combine apple cider, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes until slightly thickened.
  3. Bake the Ribs: Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Brush a generous amount of the apple cider glaze over the ribs. Cover with another piece of foil and bake for 1.5 hours.
  4. Glaze and Broil: After 1.5 hours, remove the top foil and brush more glaze over the ribs. Increase the oven temperature to broil and cook for an additional 5-10 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning, until the glaze is caramelized.
  5. Serve: Remove the ribs from the oven, let them rest for a few minutes, then cut into portions. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve with remaining glaze on the side.
