Colorful Vegan Detox Smoothie Recipe

My vegan friends got me onto using dates instead of honey for sweetness. This vegan detox smoothie is fully plant-based but still tastes like a treat, not a compromise.

Easy Vegan Detox Smoothie Recipe

A colorful vegan detox smoothie with spinach, banana, and mixed berries, garnished with chia seeds and mint on a wooden table.

This detox smoothie combines spinach, banana, and berries for a powerful blend that supports overall wellness. Ready in just 10 minutes, it serves 2 and is a delicious way to incorporate more plant-based ingredients into your diet.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh spinach leaves
  • 1 medium ripe banana
  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk or coconut water
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup (optional for sweetness)
  • Ice cubes (optional, depending on desired thickness)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Ingredients: Rinse the spinach and banana. If using fresh berries instead of frozen, wash and hull them.
  2. Blend the Smoothie: In a blender, combine the spinach, banana, mixed berries, almond milk or coconut water, chia seeds, and maple syrup. Blend until smooth and creamy, adding ice cubes for a thicker consistency if desired.
  3. Taste and Adjust: Taste the smoothie and add more maple syrup if you prefer it sweeter. Blend again briefly to combine.
  4. Serve: Pour the smoothie into glasses and enjoy immediately for optimal freshness and nutrient benefits.

Soak the dates first if they’re dry, so they blend smooth. A pinch of salt makes the fruit taste sweeter.
