Lemon cuts through watermelon’s sweetness in a way that makes the fruit taste fresher. This watermelon lemon detox smoothie is my stand-in for lemonade when I want something with actual nutrition behind it.
Refreshing Watermelon Lemon Detox Smoothie

This smoothie combines juicy watermelon, tangy lemon juice, and a hint of mint for a bright, invigorating drink. It takes just 10 minutes to prepare and serves 2 people.
Ingredients
- 2 cups watermelon, diced and seeded
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 1/2 cup coconut water or regular water
- 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, plus extra for garnish
- Ice cubes (as needed)
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Dice the watermelon and juice the lemon. Gather the mint leaves.
- Blend: In a blender, combine the watermelon, lemon juice, honey (if using), coconut water, and mint leaves. Add ice cubes for a chilled smoothie if desired.
- Blend Until Smooth: Blend the mixture on high speed until smooth and creamy. Adjust the consistency by adding more coconut water if needed.
- Serve: Pour the smoothie into glasses and garnish with a few mint leaves on top. Enjoy immediately for the best flavor and freshness.
Add the lemon a little at a time, since melons vary in sweetness. A few ice cubes keep it from turning into warm juice.
