I stirred caramel syrup into cold brew the first time on a afternoon when the kitchen was too warm for a hot cup. The milk swirls in slow ribbons and the ice cracks against the glass, and that creamy caramel swirl iced coffee has been my summer go-to since.
Delicious Iced Coffee Recipe
I usually make this with cold brew leftover from the morning, and a heavier pour of caramel than I probably should. Give the glass a slow stir before the last sip so the caramel at the bottom mixes back in.
Ingredients
- 2 cups brewed coffee, cooled
- 1 cup milk (whole, skim, or your choice)
- 1/4 cup caramel syrup, plus extra for drizzling
- Ice cubes
- Whipped cream for topping (optional)
- Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Brew the Coffee: Prepare your coffee using your preferred method and allow it to cool to room temperature.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large glass or pitcher, combine the cooled coffee, milk, and caramel syrup. Stir well to mix all ingredients.
- Prepare Glasses: Fill two tall glasses with ice cubes.
- Pour and Drizzle: Pour the coffee mixture over the ice in each glass. Drizzle additional caramel syrup on top for extra sweetness.
- Optional Toppings: If desired, top with whipped cream and sprinkle with chocolate shavings or cocoa powder.
- Serve: Enjoy your creamy caramel swirl iced coffee immediately.
