No-Bake Italian Chocolate Salami Packed With Cookie Crunch

Chocolate salami is the no-bake log of melted chocolate and crushed cookies rolled up and chilled until you can slice it. I use a rough chop so the pieces look like the fat in the real thing.

With simple ingredients and no baking required, this recipe is an excellent way to enjoy a classic Italian dessert that can be easily made at home.

Easy No-Bake Italian Chocolate Salami

A slice of Italian Chocolate Salami dusted with icing sugar on a rustic wooden table, revealing cookie chunks and nuts inside.

This Italian Chocolate Salami features a combination of crushed cookies, nuts, and cocoa, all blended together and formed into a salami shape. The process is quick and easy, taking about 30 minutes to prepare and allows for chilling time, making it ready to serve in just a few hours.

Ingredients

  • 200g digestive biscuits or plain cookies, crushed
  • 100g walnuts or hazelnuts, chopped
  • 50g cocoa powder
  • 150g powdered sugar
  • 100g unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 100g dark chocolate, melted
  • Icing sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Prep the Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed cookies and chopped nuts.
  2. Mix the Dry Ingredients: Add the cocoa powder and powdered sugar to the cookie mixture, stirring to combine.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, cream the softened butter and add the melted dark chocolate, mixing until smooth. Incorporate the eggs, mixing well.
  4. Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and combine until well mixed.
  5. Shape the Salami: Lay out a sheet of plastic wrap and place the chocolate mixture in the center. Roll it up tightly, shaping it into a log. Twist the ends to seal and refrigerate for about 4 hours or until firm.
  6. Serve: Once chilled, unwrap the salami and dust with icing sugar before slicing. Serve chilled as a delicious dessert.
